Adrenal Health Week

Your adrenal health is super important just like any other part of your body.

Adrenal health is important for:

Each of the B vitamins that make up vitamin B complex is essential in varying quantities throughout the adrenal hormone production, as well as in many other processes from mood to DNA synthesis to energy production.

Most B-vitamins act as co-enzymes, which means that they help form enzymes to become catalysts in biochemical transformations throughout your body.  Also, the more stress we have, the more B vitamins our bodies use; therefore, we require more to maintain optimal health.

Holy Basil is a really amazing herb that has been used for over 2000 years for overall body support. But it does something really special for the Adrenals.Holy Basil has been known to help reduce cortisol levels in the body and it’s considered a calming herb.  The adrenals increase production of cortisol to handle stress.

 

Lastly Phosphatidylserine,

Phosphatidylserine is part of the phospholipid family. Its mainly used for brain health but it does wonder for the overall body including the adrenals. Basically, Phosphatidylserine works by telling the brain to protect the healthy cells and get rid of the extra cortisol allowing you to calm down and recover faster from a stressful situation and by re-sensitizing the hypothalamus and hippocampus to the hormone cortisol.

 

Now that we have talked about the body I would love to talk a little bit about the thinking mind.

Most of the times the reason why we get angry, frustrated or any level of upset is because of our perception of what is happening.  It’s because of the way that we think about a situation that causes us to react to it emotionally.  Being able to observe and recognize toxic thinking is a skill that we have the lovely opportunity to learn and develop. It’s the journey of changing the way we see and think.   Being able to recognize and catch yourself in the midst of toxic thinking can really stave off unhealthy emotional reactions.  There are always two places we can function from, Fear or Love, Wholeness or brokenness and we can literally live in whatever we choose in the moment.  Nutrition is just as much of an inner work as it is an outer work. The way we think and what we believe will shape our reality and that can be healthy or very unhealthy. Negative self-talk can contribute to stress and even depression, which puts the body into terrible metabolic state.
